Alivia Care
Susan Ponder-Stansel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Alivia Care, Inc., is a visionary leader whose life’s work has been to compassionately care for the people of her community.
In 1985, Susan began her career as a social worker by volunteering at Hospice of the Northeast, a small non-profit hospice agency licensed in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns with a handful of employees. Under her leadership, the organization expanded to become one of the nation’s largest non-profit hospice providers, Community Hospice & Palliative Care, with over 2,000 employees and volunteers caring for over 1,300 patients daily in 16 counties across North Florida.
In June of 2020, Susan was appointed to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Alivia Care, Inc., the parent company of Community Hospice & Palliative Care. In this new role, she spearheaded the addition of new home health, hospice, and palliative care divisions under the Alivia Care, Inc. brand with the goal of empowering patients and their caregivers to make informed decisions about the care they receive. Susan conducts speaking engagements throughout the U.S. on the importance of caring for our community across the health continuum, and currently serves on multiple boards throughout North Florida to give back to the community she calls home.
